Hadoop Hands-on Prerequisites & Resources

Prerequisites

• GNU/Linux environment or FutureGrid Machine Access
• JavaTM JDK 1.6.x installed (preferably from Sun)
• ssh server/client installed

Resources

FutureGrid Machine already deployed the following packages underneath the user home directory. But If you are running our tutorial on your own machines, please make sure you have the following packages installed:

• Hadoop-0.20.2 framework
• Hadoop-WordCount program
• Hadoop-Blast Prorgam
• Blast Program and optimized Database
